Islamabad (Republic Pk) Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has announced to facilitate the return of 30 Iranian nationals.
In a statement on the social networking site X, Ishaq Dar wrote that Pakistan is facilitating the return of 30 Iranian nationals on humanitarian grounds, including fishermen rescued from the sea and crew members involved in various operations.
He further stated that these people include 8 Iranian fishermen who were rescued from the sea by the British ship ‘MMA Valour’ when their boat went astray and met with an accident, in addition to 22 Iranian crew members who were part of the group who were on the ship ‘Lenore Davina’ and were recently taken into custody during the operation by the US authorities.
All the people will be sent to their homeland via Karachi in the next few days, he added.
Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan is in close contact with the relevant authorities of Iran, the US and the UK during this process to ensure the safe and timely return of all individuals.
