Aleema Khan Vows ‘Whatever It Takes’ for Imran Khan’s Release, Confirms ‘Street Movement’
- Vows action for PTI founder’s immediate release.
- Confirms Imran Khan directs street movement.
- Dismisses PML-N, PPP as corporate entities.
Speaking to the media at Factory Naka in Rawalpindi, Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, issued a strong statement regarding the public’s overwhelming demand for his freedom and the party’s future strategy. Aleema Khan asserted definitively, “The public wants to hear about the PTI founder, and we will do whatever is necessary for his release; no one can stop us.”
She confirmed the continuity of communication and strategy planning, noting that the PTI founder sends clear directions, which are often relayed via the social media platform X. Aleema Khan specified that the founder issues guidance for key legal figures like Salman Akram Raja and instructions aimed at the general public. She noted the sensitivity of the situation, adding that when they were standing in court, a secret intelligence official was also present.
Highlighting the party’s focus on generational change, Aleema Khan praised PTI figure Sohail Afridi, calling him “the future of Pakistan.” She contended that this marks a new political era, declaring that the younger generation has successfully buried the old style of politics. She expressed delight in seeing the new generation step up.
She also used Afridi’s public conduct to challenge the perception of insecurity in a major metropolis. “It was a deception that there is much fear in Karachi. There is absolutely no fear,” she stated. “While the smallest officer in Karachi does not move without a bulletproof vehicle, Sohail Afridi spent the entire time sitting atop his car. This signifies that the people of Karachi are peaceful people.” She concluded that Afridi’s actions have broken the idols of fear in Karachi.
In a sharp critique of mainstream political rivals, Aleema Khan dismissed the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). She labeled them as mere “companies” whose operational systems are based on “shareholding,” contrasting this corporate model with the people-centric vision of PTI.
She confirmed that the PTI founder’s final message included clear directions to Sohail Afridi: “Prepare and start a street movement.” According to Aleema Khan, democracy is defined by the will of the people, asserting, “If you do not take the name of the PTI founder, the public will not watch you.” She concluded that a ‘New Pakistan’ has already been established, where the public dictates the direction the country must take.
