Islamabad: Senior journalist Azaz Syed has strongly criticized PTI leader Shehbaz Gill, claiming that he is among those who have caused the greatest damage to the party.
In a statement posted on X, Syed alleged that Gill not only hurt PTI through his harsh language but also by allegedly providing intelligence agencies with information about Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi.
Syed’s remarks came in response to a commentary by anchor Shahzeb Khanzada. He further wrote that former army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa had hinted at these disclosures during a meeting with Imran Khan in the presence of former president Arif Alvi. Syed speculated that Gill may also have shared details regarding Aleema Khan, though he admitted this was his assumption.
According to Syed, these alleged leaks were the reason the establishment allowed Shehbaz Gill to travel abroad, with the understanding that he would continue to provide “services” while outside the country.
The comments have reignited debate about Gill’s role within PTI and his relationship with state institutions, adding another layer of controversy to the party’s internal challenges.
