Imran Khan’s Sister Aleema Khan Moves IHC With Contempt Plea

Petition in Islamabad High Court

ISLAMABAD: Aleema Khan, sister of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has filed a contempt of court petition in the Islamabad High Court after being denied a meeting with her brother at Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi. The petition argues that despite clear directions issued by the court on March 24, jail authorities failed to implement the order allowing her to meet Imran Khan.

Respondents Named in Petition

The petition lists the Superintendent of Adiala Jail, the Federal Interior Secretary, and the Punjab Interior Secretary as respondents. Aleema Khan has requested the court to initiate contempt proceedings against those responsible for ignoring judicial instructions.

KP Chief Minister’s Protest

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Soheil Afridi also staged a protest outside Adiala Jail on Thursday night and later attempted to meet the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court on Friday morning. Speaking to reporters, Afridi said that since October 27, neither Imran Khan’s sisters, nor PTI leaders, doctors, or lawyers have been allowed to meet him.

Afridi expressed concern over Imran Khan’s health, stating that dangerous rumors were spreading and that authorities were deliberately preventing access. He alleged that discriminatory treatment was being meted out to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, creating divisions between provinces.

Appeal to Judiciary

Afridi further said that when he sought a meeting with the Chief Justice, he was told the judge did not wish to meet him. “We have seen courts open even on holidays and at night, yet today we were denied access,” he remarked. He urged the judiciary to uphold justice, warning that public anger could intensify if relief was not provided.
