Bodies of 10 Afghan Citizens Killed in Iran Returned Home

Taliban Confirmation

Farah, Afghanistan: The Taliban administration in Afghanistan has confirmed that the bodies of 10 Afghan citizens, killed in Iran, have been repatriated. Officials in Farah province told BBC Urdu that the victims were among 11 Afghans reportedly killed on December 3, while one body and one injured survivor remain in Iran.

Details from Border Commander

Taliban commander Khatib Farahi at the Abu Nasr border crossing said the group originally included 12 Afghans, three or four from Farah and the rest from Herat. They were allegedly taken illegally into Iran, detained, and “killed in a brutal manner.” One survivor, wounded in the attack, later informed families and Taliban authorities about the incident.

Ministry of Interior Statement

Afghanistan’s Ministry of Interior stated the killings occurred “around 20 days ago.” Spokesman Abdul Mateen Qane told BBC in an audio message that the bodies had been left on Iranian roads before being handed over to Afghan officials, who then returned them to families.

Iranian Silence

Iranian authorities have not yet commented on the incident. The Taliban government says efforts are ongoing to secure the return of the remaining body and the injured Afghan citizen.
