Imran Khan’s Sons Fear They May Never See Him Again

Interview with Sky News

In a recent interview on The World with Yalda Hakim (Sky News), Qasim and Suleman Khan expressed grave concern that they may never see their father, former Prime Minister Imran Khan, again. They said Khan is being subjected to “psychological torture” inside what they described as a “death cell.”

Qasim Khan Wearing Father’s Jacket

During the interview, Qasim Khan appeared wearing his father’s jacket, symbolizing solidarity and emotional connection. He described the prison conditions as “ghastly,” claiming Khan has been kept in solitary confinement for more than two years, given dirty water, and surrounded by prisoners dying of hepatitis.

“Death Cell” Conditions

Suleman Khan added that his father spends 23 hours a day inside the cell, which is now referred to as a “death cell.” He noted that a military spokesperson recently confirmed Khan has been placed in complete isolation.

Family’s Fear and Psychological Torture

Qasim Khan said: “We fear we may never see him again. He is being subjected to psychological torture, even prison staff are not allowed to speak to him.” Both sons stressed that the situation is worsening, leaving them hopeless about any resolution.

Confirmation from Sister’s Visit

Their remarks echo those of Khan’s sister Uzma Khanum, who earlier this month was allowed a rare meeting. She reported that Khan was suffering from isolation and severe mental stress due to restricted family access.

Political Context

Imran Khan, ousted in 2022 through a parliamentary vote, has since faced multiple convictions which he calls politically motivated. Once a global cricket star who led Pakistan to victory in the 1992 World Cup, Khan served as Prime Minister from 2018 to 2022.

Sons on Father’s Resolve

Qasim Khan insisted his father would “never strike a deal” and would not abandon his party workers languishing in jail. He said Khan prefers to endure harsh conditions rather than compromise on his mission to rid Pakistan of corruption, a goal he had repeated “millions of times” to his family and supporters.
