Web Desk (Republic PK) Irshad Bhatti recently addressed speculations in a digital vlog regarding the potential release of Imran Khan on medical grounds. He cited a report from The Observer which suggested such a possibility in the future. However, Bhatti firmly stated that Imran Khan would never accept a release under a medical deal.

The journalist emphasized that Imran Khan has spent nearly three years in jail without seeking mercy. Unlike his political opponents, Khan has not faked illnesses to escape the country. Subsequently, Bhatti noted that Khan only requests access to his legal team and family members. He believes the establishment will eventually negotiate with Khan due to the government’s economic failures.
Nawaz Sharif Directives and Power Distribution Tactics
Meanwhile, Bhatti focused on the internal directives of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). He reported that Nawaz Sharif has ordered party members to maintain unity with state institutions. Sharif used the Punjabi phrase “Chup Kar, Darh Watt Ja” to advise his workers to stay silent. This strategy aims to protect the current perks of power enjoyed by the Sharif family. According to Bhatti, the leadership prioritizes personal interests over national ones.

Bhatti also analyzed the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) election dynamics. He pointed out that the PML-N is poised to form the government despite severe criticism from Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Bilawal called the elections rigged while his party remains a coalition partner in the federal government. Bhatti mocked this contradiction and criticized the system of refugee seats in the assembly.
