Mumbai (Republic Pk) In India, Andhra Pradesh police have arrested a 27-year-old bride who performed 5 marriages and used to escape by robbing on the pretext of marriage.
Police investigation revealed that the accused performed 5 separate marriages and defrauded the people. The accused was identified as Vijayamani, who was absconding after leaving a man from Anantapur, Yaparla, in 2025 and absconding with a dowry of Rs 3.8 lakh.
Vijayamani performed several marriages with the help of her facilitators Somapriya, Ashok, Sasikala and Ramakrishna. These people used to help her in getting marriages done fraudulently to extort money from innocent people.
When the police came to know that she was running this racket along with her facilitators, started searching for the accused bride.
The police also confirmed that the woman had two children from previous marriages who used fake names like Shweta Reddy and Keerthy to lure the new victims.
The fraud, which took place in the year 2025, came to light just 3 days after the wedding. She feigned ill health and insisted on returning to her parents’ house.
Sudhir Reddy accompanied her to the railway station, but during the journey, she stopped near Nandyal and disappeared in the crowd. Realizing that she was missing, her husband started searching for her at the station but found nothing, after that he informed police.
A police inquiry on a complaint filed by Sudhir revealed a huge criminal record of Vijaymani. The cheater bride is now in police custody and is being interrogated.
