US Air Force B-52 bomber, Russian TU-22 strategic bomber crashes

 

Washington, Moscow (Republic PK) A US Air Force B-52 bomber crashed in California, reportedly killing eight people, while a Russian TU-22 strategic bomber crashed in the Irkutsk region of Siberia, which was also confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

According to the US Air Force, a military plane crashed on Monday morning at Edwards Air Force Base, north of Los Angeles, California. The Air Force base issued a statement on social media saying that the US Air Force B-52 Stratofortress bomber crashed at the airfield shortly after takeoff at 11:20 am.

Meanwhile, a Russian strategic bomber TU-22 crashed in the Irkutsk region of Siberia, and Russian media say that the Russian bomber crashed during a training flight. The crew on board the bomber survived the accident.
